SURVEY

  • TECHNICAL SURVEY
Technical Survey follows Non-Technical Survey and refers to the collection and analysis of data using technical interventions, about the specifications, proliferation, surrounding terrain of explosive contamination and component elements. Technical Survey enables neutralization and clearance of explosive hazards.
  • NON-TECHNICAL SURVEY (NTS)
Non-Technical Survey involves the collection and analysis of data, without the use of technical interventions, about the presence or absence, type, distribution and location of mine/ERW contamination and to support land release prioritization and decision-making processes through the provision of evidence.

CLEARANCE

  • BATTLEFIELD AREA CLEARANCE (BAC)
BAC involves the search, location, neutralization and disposal of ERW including post-conflict battlefield areas: offensive strike sites and defensive positions in urban and rural areas. Clearance can be conducted manually and mechanically.
  • MINE CLEARANCE
Mine clearance involves the identification, location, neutralization and disposal of landmines (anti-vehicle and ani-personnel), usually in post conflict battle minefields – this can be conducted manually or with mechanical support dependent on the terrain.
  • IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE (IED) CLEARANCE
Mine clearance involves the identification, location, neutralization and disposal of landmines (anti-vehicle and ani-personnel), usually in post conflict battle minefields – this can be conducted manually or with mechanical support dependent on the terrain.
  • MECHANICALLY ASSISTED CLEARANCE
Used mainly in the ground preparation and the verification of large areas of land where the threat from explosive ordnance is relatively benign. Mechanically assisted clearance is almost always conducted in partnership with manual clearance teams and can significantly speed up the clearance process. Vehicles directly in contact with explosive ordnance are armored to NATO specifications.
